SCGMA Attends the Glass & Glazing Forum!

The Finishing Trades Institute of Southern California, in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), hosted its first Glass & Glazing Forum on April 14, 2022, at the new Apprenticeship Training Center in Commerce. The forum offered architects the opportunity to earn AIA HSW credits by attending their continuing education sessions throughout the day. The architects were joined by vendors, glazing contractors, and other industry leaders joined together for a day filled with educational presentations, vendor demonstrations, raffle prizes, and plenty of networking opportunities. Southern California Glass Management Association hosted our own booth at the event complete with business card raffles, prizes, and an interactive safety activity!

Presentations included:

-Why Certification – Providing Real Peace of Mind – Jeff Dalaba, Administrative Management Systems
-Interior Glass Office Front System – Joseph Iannici, Dormakaba
-Glass Entrance Specifications: What you need to know – Mark Suehiro, C. R. Laurence
-Glass Handrail and Guardrail Systems – Paul Daniels, Frameless Hardware Company
-Next Generation Structural Silicone Glazing Adhesives – Abel Macias, Momentive

The vendor demonstrations drew in large crowds as guests gathered around to see how the latest innovations in technology continue to move our industry forward.

SCGMA was also thrilled to reconnect in-person with some of our members including Aragon Construction, BEST Contracting Services, Walters & Wolf, Woodbridge Glass, and Sherrin Glass & Metal!

It was a great day filled with learning, networking, and everything GLASS and we look forward to seeing everyone again at next year’s Glass & Glazing Forum! Check out this video we’ve created to capture the event!
