What Was GlassCon Global All About in 2016?

GlassCon Global 2016 was held in the historic city of Boston, which also happens to be a city undergoing a glazing boom similar to San Francisco.  The event afforded SCGMA staff and contractors the opportunity to meet with other associations and district councils to learn what else is going on around the glazing world and expand on a pre-existing collaborative effort with east coast associations and unions. Such collaboration includes sharing strategies on the demountable glass wall initiative, photovoltaics, and smart glass.

The event boasted dozens of presenters who are experts in various facets of the glazing industry ranging from a molecular level to advanced German glazing. Perhaps the hottest presentations focused on the ever-increasing market of glass elevators, glass stairs, and intelligent facades. During the three days of presentations several experts focused heavily on these three topics.
