SCGMA YPG Event Recap – Kawneer Tour

On Friday, July 7th, the SCGMA Young Professionals Group held their second quarterly event of 2023 – a tour to Kawneer. Young professionals from SCGMA contractor businesses joined the tour at Kawneer’s manufacturing facility in Visalia. We kicked off the event with an educational presentation from Joy Meinershagen about Kawneer’s history and services followed by a presentation and tour from plant manager, David Serpa. YP’s had the opportunity to see Kawneer’s products and systems firsthand. The tour showcased the process of receiving materials, Fabrication of doors, storefront and windows then finishing with paint and packing 100K to 300K of shipment a day.

We would like to express a special thanks to Kawneer’s team for a great event. Our mission to strengthen and shape the future of our industry by investing in the growth of our glass and glazing young professionals is made possible through collaboration with industry leaders like Kawneer.
