On October 16th, we hosted another successful Glazing Boot Camp featuring a water testing demo at our Apprenticeship Training Facility in Commerce. The event kicked off with an engaging presentation on what it takes to be a glazier, setting the stage for a full day of hands-on learning.
Participants worked side by side with our apprentices to assemble storefront and curtain wall mockups, set up frames, and mount closers in compliance with ADA requirements. They also practiced precise glass-cutting techniques and observed a demonstration of aluminum caulking. The day concluded with this year’s highlight—the Water Testing Demo—where attendees learned how to perform water tests correctly and identify potential failures in glazing systems, gaining valuable insights into real-world troubleshooting.
Thank you to everyone who joined us—your enthusiasm and commitment to learning made this event a tremendous success! A special thanks to our Union partners at District Council 36 Local Union 636, as well as our Apprenticeship Training Center team and apprentices, for their ongoing support, expertise, and dedication in making these valuable training opportunities possible.
