Apprenticeship evaluations must be completed and signed by a supervisor/foreman/leadman of the contractor when an apprentice has an advancement. This requirement is per the California Code of Regulations (CCR) Article 4, which in part reads:
- (7) a procedure to be utilized for the recording and maintenance of all records concerning apprenticeship and otherwise required by law including a system for recording the apprentice’s worksite job progress and progress in related and supplemental instruction and a system for the periodic review and evaluation of the apprentice’s progress in job performance and related instruction;
(this is the prevision for the periodic reviews which are attached to the wage increases every six months.) - (15) the on-going evaluation of the interest and capacity of individual employers to participate in the apprenticeship program and to train apprentices on-the-job and provisions for the evaluation of on-the-job training and related and supplemental instruction
(This is the prevision to revoke the employer’s “firm to Train” and will no longer get apprentices to work for that company.)
