SCGMA YPG Event Recap – Trulite Tour

On Thursday, March 13, Trulite welcomed our Young Professional Group to its fabrication facility in the City of Industry for an exclusive tour of their operations providing an opportunity to see firsthand how Trulite continues to push the boundaries of glass technology. The event began with a detailed safety briefing, followed by an in-depth exploration of the oven line production, which covers essential processes from oven edge work for tempered glass to roller wave distortion, and cutting technology to measure glass quality.

Attendees also learned about Trulite’s fabrication department, where CNC machines are used to program cut-outs, and assembly lines are utilized to produce door hardware and storefronts. The cutting department was highlighted for its role in providing accurate sizing for pricing and labeling glass, with separate oven lines to ensure precise handling of thick and thin glass. Special attention was given to the edge deleting process for Low-E glass, which is sealed for a 10-year warranty, as well as the primary and secondary sealing steps that guarantee durability.

The tour ended with a presentation led by operations manager Mario Vallejo showcasing Trulite’s commitment to customer service including their automatic account-specific order reports and impressive performance metrics, such as a 96% on-time delivery rate. Proactive quality checks and scanning stations across departments were discussed as part of the company’s approach to maintaining high standards and mitigating risks.

Overall, the Trulite facility tour provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the company’s commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Participants walked away with a deeper appreciation for Trulite’s technology and the meticulous processes that set them apart in the glazing industry. Special thanks to plant manager Jose Tinajero, territory sales manager Adrian Castorena and Tyler Godoy for leading such an informative and engaging event.
